Meninadança: Modern Slavery Statement 2023
It is Meninadança’s vision to be at the forefront of the fight against violence, sexual exploitation and injustice against girls in Brazil. This includes the rescue and prevention of young girls exploited in child
sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
Our mission is to defend the rights and aid the wholesome development of girls who are at risk from, or victims of, violence and sexual exploitation. Our objectives are to promote actions which combat abuse and exploitation, and to provide to girls the means to live creative and meaningful lives.
Consistent with our mission and objectives Meninadança is wholeheartedly committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in relation to any of its operations and activities.
Meninadança UK raises funds from the public and does not currently engage in commercial activities or engage professional fundraisers. We endeavour to source our materials and services from ethical sources.
In Brazil the funds raised in the UK are directed at our objectives, supporting the operation of the Pink Houses which act as a refuge for young girls and a source of help including psychological support for
traumatised girls and liaison with local child social services. This is augmented by support for a legal team providing advocacy and representation for girls in the pursuit of justice.
Through our founder and International Director we monitor the activities of our Brazilian partner charity and satisfy ourselves that money provided is used appropriately.
