Our Christmas party was a chance to finish the year with a celebration of all that had happened at the Pink House – as well as give the girls a Christmas they will remember.
Each girl was allowed to bring two family members, and the venue – a community hall we rented for the night – was packed with over 150 people.
Guests were treated to a delicious Christmas banquet, the girls each received presents – earrings, bracelets, and hair accessories – and each person went away with a special gift, a chocolate inside a handmade box made by the girls.
But before food was served the girls surprised us with a special message for Pink House staff which they had written themselves, and practised in secret for weeks!
First, a number of girls stood up and spoke about how their lives had changed, and how grateful they were for having been taken in and cared for at the Pink House.
Then, 13-year-old Jacqueline took the microphone… watch the video to find out what happened next!
